Advocacy for the health needs of low-income and medically underserved communities has been a career constant. Key areas of professional interest include prevention and education, improved access and quality of primary health care, reducing health disparities, and building strong community partnerships.

In addition to our staff, local physicians volunteer on a regular
basis at our Health Centers. When the Health Center began as the “Free
Clinic” over 30 years ago, ALL of our health care providers were
volunteers.
We currently have volunteer providers from St. Mary’s/Duluth
Clinic Health System, St. Luke’s Hospital, and the Family Practice
Center. The volunteers enable us to see more patients and provide specific
services:
- OB-GYNs provide colposcopies and other specialized
testing and evaluation
- Family Practice Residents provide acute and general
health care
